VESTRA assisted the Bella Vista Water District (BVWD) in the development of a Geographic Information System (GIS) based on ESRI technology. VESTRA staff customized a GIS database design, incorporating a geometric network data model, tailored to the specific needs of BVWD. The data model enables the district to run network traces and export data to a hydrological modeling application. VESTRA assisted with data migration from CAD files and other data sources into an ESRI personal geodatabase and customized productivity tools to aid in GIS data maintenance and analysis of the migrated data (e.g., identify, statistics, overlay, and thematic mapping). Other custom tools were provided to perform basic water distribution network tracing within the GIS and to produce utility map books. VESTRA provided custom user training to ensure proper use of the custom tools as well as ESRI software. Other services provided included integration of the new BVWD SQL Server-based accounting system with GIS and development of an editing workflow. Finally, VESTRA trained BVWD staff to collect and edit geographic data using state-of-the-art GPS and ESRI software. Incident Mapping Tools: |
