Permitting and WasteWater Pond Design
Greenwood Dairy, Orland, California
|
VESTRA provided permit, regulatory compliance, engineering, and sampling services to the Greenwood Dairy located in Orland. The operator wished to expand the dairy herd from 1,800 to 3,500 milking head. Glenn County Confined-Animal Facility Operation (CAFO) regulations as well as Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB), California Air Quality Control Board, and Glenn County permits are required and include lengthy submittal processes. VESTRA coordinated the permitting process, which has included addressing the extensive requirements of the Glenn County CAFO element as well as the Report of Waste Discharge required by RWQCB. In addition to permitting assistance, VESTRA designed the dairy's new wastewater ponds to meet CCR Title 27 requirements. VESTRA's assistance was requested to gain RWQCB approval of the design. VESTRA has also conducted required groundwater monitoring, installation of monitoring wells, and general compliance support over the past four-year period. |
