Upper Pit River Watershed Managment Strategy
Pit River Watershed Alliance
The Watershed Management Strategy (WMS) is one of several major goals of the Pit River Watershed Alliance. VESTRA assisted the Pit River Watershed Alliance with the first of their goals, the Upper Pit River Watershed Assessment, completed in 2004. VESTRA staff continue to assist the Alliance with their watershed management efforts in the development of the WMS, providing outreach support, facilitation services, and technical support. Outreach activities include one-on-one landowner outreach, as well as public meetings and presentations aimed at introducing the WMS to stakeholders and discovering their goals for improving and maintaining the watershed. Outreach data will be summarized and used to finalize watershed goals for the WMS. VESTRA will help to facilitate the decision process and in the finalization of the document.
