GIS Database Design Services

VESTRA provided global positioning system (GPS) services and GIS database design, analysis, and mapping services as part of the Creston Ranch vineyard development project in the Paso Robles area for SouthCorp Pty. Ltd. of Australia. VESTRA collected GPS data onsite and worked with California AgQuest to locate and collect data for soil pits, roads, property corners, water tanks, and wells. Soil pit data (soil logs) was incorporated into a Microsoft Access database. Automated GIS methods data was used to produce land use statistics features, soils logs, root zone depths, available water-holding capacity, topsoil carbonates, soil pH, lime/gypsum/sulfur amendments, soil salinity, topsoil potassium, vineyard blocks, and row direction/side slope hazards. California AgQuest and SouthCorp used this information to complete vineyard design and analysis.
