Wattle Creek Winery - Vineyard Development
Wattle Creek Winery retained VESTRA to help map and analyze a 590-acre tract of land for its potential for premium wine-grape production. Using surveyed contour lines, VESTRA analyzed slope and aspect conditions of the property and integrated this data into a GIS, where it was combined with information about soils, vegetations, streams and reservoirs, roads, and other relevant features. Slope and aspect data layers were classified and ranked, and from this information a spatial model was constructed that identified areas likely to produce the highest-quality grapes, listed in descending order. Wattle Creek used these results to determine which areas would be developed first. VESTRA continues to provide data management and on-demand mapping services.
