Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans
VESTRA has prepared hundreds of Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans (SPCCs) for clients. SPCCs are required for sites with a potential to discharge petroleum into receiving waters. Our engineering staff have extensive experience in designing and implementing these plans, conducting site inspections, performing required sampling, and preparing the necessary documentation and reports.
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) SPCCs are required for facilities storing petroleum in a single tank greater than 1,320 gallons or in aboveground tanks or containers with a cumulative storage capacity of greater than 1,320 gallons. The plan describes procedures, methods, and equipment employed at the facility to prevent discharges of petroleum to navigable waters. The SPCC must be prepared in accordance with EPA guidelines for oil pollution prevention and certified by a Registered Professional Engineer.
The professional engineers on staff at VESTRA have years of experience in the development of plans and documentation that incorporate cost-effective compliance strategies while fulfilling all regulatory requirements. We can provide a full range of consulting, planning, and project management services.
